The Hangover - Part 2 (Halarious But Lazy....)
This is a quick review so I'll get right to the point. This movie was exactly like the first one. There was no effort in trying to evolve the plot. Everything that happens in this movie has an exact counter part in it predecessor. Still the movie was hilarious. Specially the part with the shemales...LOL! I'm still having nightmares. What did you think of The Hangover 2, let me know in the comment box below!
Side note: Quick reviews will be given to films that don't give me anything to talk about.

I agree whole heartedly with you on this one.
ReplyDeleteI think Part 2 is funnier than the first film (aside from an embarrassing return cameo at the end). Also, the film comes up with some great set pieces that explore the characters in ways the first film did not, and makes them richer to the us (we get to see the way Zach Galifinakis' character views the world and Ed Helms' character comes to the realization "I have a demon inside me").
Also of interest is how much darker the sequel is, really using the gritty third-world Bangkok landscape to it's advantage. We get decapitations, hard drug use, bizarre sex encounters, and a real sense of the depraved. There is a distinctly morbid tone that the earlier picture seemed to hint around at, but here the filmmakers have decided to go all-out.
This film is a success. It is not as original as The Hangover Part 1, but then again how many film really are. These characters are unique and interesting and a lot more fun and desperate in this film.
